Artfully Aware

HELLO I'M NIA, AN ART STUDENT WITH AN UNHEALTHY ATTACHMENT TO SARCASM AND NETFLIX BINGE WATCHING

I remember waking up one day, seeing a tweet from YouTuber/Musician Troye Sivan saying tickets for his first U.S. shows were going on sale and I flipped. I really grew to like him as a personality as well as a singer over the course of a few months. When I see anyone I like is going on tour, I immediately freeze and ask myself two questions: 1) Do I have the money? and 2) Do I have the money? LOL. But in all seriousness, in my live I've decided to put experience over everything else and I knew I was going to regret it if I didn't at least try to get a ticket. I bought mine as soon as tickets went on sale, and somehow by a strange miracle I got one.

When the day of the concert actually came (which was about two weeks ago), I was kind of anxious because I was going by myself, and it was my first general admission show. I felt like I was going to be bored waiting around for hours for Troye to go on, but again, miraculously I wasn't alone. I met two people, Larissa and a rising YouTuber who goes by the name Handsmile who were totally awesome! After dancing uncontrollably to a DJ who was probably just shooting the shit with a Spotify playlist, Troye finally came on and gave such a good show! It was unreal being in such an intimate venue and I'm glad I got to experience him on tour before he gets even bigger.

Here are some pictures and a couple clips from the show which I apologize in advanced for but I was not lugging around a DSLR at that time of night giiirl:

This is his song Ease, which is my favorite.

Here he was talking about what it's like being in New York City

If you haven't heard of/listened to him you should! He has really great music and his album is coming out in December so you've got a little time before then! I'm so glad I went and I would do it all over again if I could. Thanks for putting on such a great show Troye <3

Let me start off by saying I am soooo sorry I haven't posted in such a long time. If you're reading this and you're in college, then you understand just how hard it is to have a moment all to yourself to just sit and think without having a slight mental breakdown, let alone write blog posts. I could say I'll be better with my time management, but then I'd have to become a stand up comedian because that's HILARIOUS. Anyways, last month I went to Beauty Con, and if you don't know what it is... yes, it is exactly what it sounds like. It's a huge convention where beauty gurus, vendors, and everyone in-between convenes to shop and talk about all things beauty. This was my first time going, and I took one of my best friends Nicole with me. It was super fun, and here are some pictures from that.

For this, I decided if I was going to pay to get in, I'd buy a Pro Pass! I'll be honest, it was mainly for the gift bag, but who doesn't like gift bags?

Once I got inside, there was so much to see. There were people doing panels, like Jay Manuel, Jeannie Mai, Louise AKA Sparkle of Glitter!

And there was even a #MCM panel for the "Beautycon Boys", who had great fashion sense, and them being easy on the eyes was a plus (L to R: Jordan O' Brien, Luca Fersko, Tanner Zagarino, and Aidan Alexander)

There were so many great booths, and here are just a few!

I even got to meet two of my favorite YouTubers, Maddi Bragg and Teala Dunn! (And yes I did have temporary green in my hair)

 (excuse my god awful expression)

Here's Nicole looking super adorable as always

And yes, here's the sassy sorry not sorry look at my outfit face haha.

And a silly one, because anyone who knows me knows I like to goof around.

I want to thank Nicole for putting up with me and coming to BeautyCon, and I also want to let anyone who is interested in makeup or skincare know they should come to this at least once in their life! It's amazing! Also, I will be doing a haul post soon for all the products I bought.

Hello everyone! Sorry it's been a little while, I've been settling into adult life *cries internally* I figured I'd start off the beauty section of my blog with a post about my favorite makeup products thus far.
Clockwise starting from the top:
-Milani Lipstick (Teddy Bare)
-Sephora Baked Blush Duo (Guava Glow)
-NYX Dewy Finish Setting Spray
- Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade (Chocolate)
-Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara
-NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams (Copenhagen, Monte Carlo, San Paulo, Cannes)
-E.L.F. Studio Baked Highlighter (Blush Gems)

I tried to do some lip swatches, but they were not on point so I did some regular swatches.
Top to Bottom: Monte Carlo, Copenhagen, Cannes, San Paulo

Here's a swatch of the Milani Teddy Bare Lipstick.
A swatch of the E.L.F. Highlighter
Here's swatches of the Sephora Blush Duo.

I love love love everything shown and these are the main products I use every day. The Soft Matte Lip Creams smell so good, and they don't dry out your lips at all; the same goes for the Milani lipstick. The blush gives me a really pretty natural glow, as well as the highlighter which adds a perfect finish to any look. The Better Than Sex Mascara is the only higher end mascara I would buy because it actually works as advertised. The Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade keeps my eyebrows on fleeeeeek at all times, and I highly recommend it. Completing any look with the setting spray is a must, because it keeps my skin looking flawless, and keeps my blush and highlight in place for most of the day.
I love finding new beauty products, so let me know what your favorites are below! And if you buy any of the things I mention, happy splurging!  (●´Ï‰`●)

Hello everyone! So last week I went with my family to celebrate my little sister's fourteenth birthday at Serendipity, upon her request. I was excited because every time I hear Serendipity I think amazing dessert.

As soon as you walk through the door, you're greeted wall to wall with novelty items, similar to stores like Spencer's or Dylan's Candy Bar.
Walking into the restaurant section, the room is filled with Tiffany lampshades, and fun house mirrors on the wall along with a hanging disco ball; very whimsical and amusing.

My dad ordered this orange cream drink, which he thought would come in a regular glass come to find out it was huge!

The appetizers were really really good, but maybe I'm biased because I'm a sucker for apps. We ordered their wings and potato skins.

When it came time to order I got the 'Young Chicken Sandwich' (open faced), my dad got 'The Catcher In The Rye, and my mom and sister both ordered the 'Shake, Batter & Bowl'. My dad & I agreed that our sandwiches were just okay, but my mom and sister were very pleased with their chicken which was the upside.

For dessert, they ordered Serendipity's well known 'Frrrozen Hot Chocolate' and my dad & I shared the 'Strawberry Fields Sundae'.

Personally I liked the dessert way more than my entree, but at least now I can cross Serendipity off the list of places to eat in the city. If you've been here let me know what you think! (◕‿◕✿)

Last night was one of the best nights of my entire life. I love going to concerts because they feel so unreal. I've been listening to One Direction since they started five years ago, and say what you want BUT they are amazing. Even though they've gone through a lot this year, including losing Zayn, they still managed to pull off a great show with just the four of them. Harry is my absolute favorite, but all four of the boys made me lose my mind last night (in a good way)! They sang all my favorite songs and honestly it was really emotional. They even sang their new single 'Drag Me Down' which sounds perfect live by the way. This was the first time I saw them live and I loved every second of the experience. Here's some pictures from the concert, and a couple videos from the show. If you're not a One Direction fan, you should be! And if you are one, I hope you got a chance to see them on tour and enjoy looking at some of my pictures.  Here they are:
This part was so beautiful (They sang 'Little Things')
Everyone in the audience freaked out when Niall grabbed his crotch it was insane

Harry singing 'Little Things' makes me melt everytime
